Introduction to Rock Climbing – Overview

Our Introduction to Outdoor Climbing Course is the perfect way to experience climbing on real rock for those with little or no prior experience. In the UK we have some of the best rock climbing in the world which means our experienced instructors can always find the right location and level of challenge for you.

This course is therefore just as suitable for complete beginners who have never climbed before as it is for those who have previously climbed indoors and are looking to refresh their skills or get a taste of climbing on real rock.

Kit needed:

All technical climbing kit is provided such as ropes, harnesses and a trad rack for you to familiarise yourself with. If you wish to bring your own gear then that’s no problem.

The only things we don’t provide are rock shoes and chalk. A lot of our students are making the transition from indoor climbing to outdoor climbing and usually already own these. However, if you don’t have your own rock shoes we can even start the day at one of the local outdoor shops, and get you kitted out with a suitable pair.

Oh, you’ll also need to bring a packed lunch and drinks.
