The Guided Walk

Our guided walk is packed with views and challenging terrain. It’s definitely not one of those easy strolls. We start in Glenridding, head up to Birkhouse Moor, then continue on to Striding Edge before heading back down Swirral Edge. The climb includes Helvellyn and Catstye Cam- two great climbs that are sure to get your heart pumping.

The views from the top of Striding Edge and Swirral Edge are some of the best in Lakeland, if not the whole of the UK. You’ll see far-reaching views over Ullswater and the surrounding countryside. The walk is around 12 miles long, and should take around six hours to complete. It’s definitely not for the faint-hearted, but if you’re looking for a challenging and rewarding walk, this is it!

Swirral Edge

The fun isn’t over yet, as to get down from the summit we have to descend Swirral Edge. It’s a shorter knife-edge arete so it won’t take us long to get back down to a well-trodden footpath.

Depending on how the group is feeling and the weather conditions, the summit of Catstycam (890m) can also be climbed. The descent is back on good quality trails that take us back to the finish in Glenridding.

The Lake District is a stunning area in northern England that offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re interested in scrambling up rocks, hiking through valleys, or simply taking in the beautiful scenery, there’s something for everyone here

And what’s even better is that you don’t have to go it alone! We offer several guided walks throughout the area. This means that you can enjoy an exciting day out without having to worry about getting lost or making poor choices when it comes to route-finding

So what are you waiting for? Get out and enjoy the outdoors!

This is aimed at people who have a moderate level of fitness. Someone who goes to the gym one or two times a week or otherwise keeps fit. The day is at a relaxed pace but with some steep climbs and descents.
